Pleasanton is a quaint and friendly city located in the Bay area. Its preserved historic downtown gives an interesting glimpse into the past through its beautiful architecture and offers speciality shops, fine dining and coffee bars. USA Today cited Pleasanton as number four in ‘America’s 50 best cities to live in’ in 2014 and it has also featured in other similar lists.
Pleasanton offers transport links via BART into San Francisco and has good road links for exploring the area. Schooling is excellent with its two comprehensive high schools, Amador Valley and Foothill, ranked by Newsweek among the top 400 high schools in the nation.
It is the location for the Alameda County Fair, held since 1912 at Alameda County Fairgrounds, and the Downtown Association holds social events such as First Wednesday celebrations and Friday concerts throughout the summer.
